MTV has just posted another video clip onto their website of their new interview with Janet Jackson and Tyler Perry, and in the clip, Perry confirms that Janet has signed on to film his next movie, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf:
In addition to Janet's role, Perry also confirms that Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, and Anika Noni Rose will star in the film, which will shoot in New York City this summer with an expected release in late 2010 or early 2011.
For Colored Girls is the film adaptation of Ntozake Shange's 1975 play, which is based on a series of 20 poems about a woman who is identified with a single color of the rainbow. The stories deal with a wide spectrum of topics including love, abandonment, rape and abortion.
