Janet attends opening of JD's Studio 72 in Atlanta
Janet attended the grand opening party for Jermaine Dupri's new nightclub Studio 72 last night in Atlanta, according to SOHH.com and Concrete Loop.
Other celebrities in attendance included Monica, Usher, Nelly, and T-Boz. The club opens to the public begining August 31.

Janet expected to attend Black & White Ball in St. Louis
Janet is expected to be one of many celebrities attending Jermaine Dupri and Nelly's Black and White Ball in St. Louis on Sunday night, according to an Associated Press report.
Amit Dhawan from Synergy Productions, the company promoting the corporate-sponsored event, announced today that Janet will be at the event along with Ashanti, Ruben Studdard and Erykah Badu.
The formal gala, where guests dress in black and white, may feature play of new Nelly tracks like "Wadsyaname" and live songs by Studdard, though last year several guests gave impromptu performances by night's end. Nelly has a reputation for bringing star-studded events to the city. Dupri doesn't have St. Louis ties, but is co-hosting the event as the two men are friends, Dhawan explained. |

Official 'Why Did I Get Married' website launched
Lionsgate has launched the official website for "Why Did I Get Married?"
Currently the website only features an animated version of the teaser poster that was released last week and a sign-up option for text-message updates concerning the film.
The film, Janet's third major motion picture, is scheduled to be released October 12. |

Perry: 'Why Did I Get Married?' set for Oct. 12 theatrical release
Director Tyler Perry announced in an e-mail sent to members of his online community today that his film "Why Did I Get Married?" will be released to theaters in the US on October 12.
This confirms reports from several movie websites, which had announced the same release date earlier this week. Previous reports had listed the release date as November 16.
Additionally, the teaser trailer for the film is reportedly being played before the recently released film "Bratz" in select theatres. The teaser features several scenes from the film and announces that the movie is "coming soon." "Bratz" is a production of Lionsgate, the same studio that is also releasing "Why Did I Get Married?" |

The website is reporting that the film will be released in the US on October 12. Previous reports had said it would be released on November 16. |
