Janet set to star in new Tyler Perry film
Janet has signed on to star opposite Tyler Perry in his next film, "Why Did I Get Married," based on the filmmaker's stage play of the same name, Variety.com is reporting.
Sources familiar with the project have confirmed to Janet Xone that the film is in pre-production and Janet has indeed signed on.
Perry is writing, directing and producing the film for Lions Gate. The film is set to being shooting on March 5 in Whistler, British Columbia; Vancouver; and then Atlanta.
Sharon Leal ("Dreamgirls") and Jill Scott have also joined the cast.
The film revolves around a couple who go away with friends every winter to examine their marriages in a group setting. One of the wives brings along a sexy young temptress who causes plenty of trouble for the couples.
Perry is best known for producing melodramas for the stage and screen that feature African-American characters in moral quandaries. His most recent film, "Daddy's Little Girls," is currently in theaters. |

Janet attends Grammy parties with Gil & JD
Janet attended two pre-Grammy parties this weekend along with Gil Duldulao and Jermaine Dupri.
The first party was Clive Davis's Pre-Grammy Awards Party held at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Saturday, February 10. The second party was Jermaine Dupri's Atlanta Invasion 2007 Pre-Grammy Celebration held the same day at the Pacific Theatre in Hollywood.
Although "20 Y.O." was nominated at Sunday night's Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary R&B album, it did not win.

Janet to be honored at Ebony celebration
Janet is one of several celebrities who will be honored at the Third Annual Ebony Pre-Oscar Celebration, EurWeb reports.
The event will be held on Thursday, February 22, at the Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood.
Other honorees include Halle Berry, Forest Whitaker, and Herbie Hancock. |

Episode 9 of Janet's MySpace video journal is now online on Janet's official MySpace page.
The episode features Janet choosing outfits for her dancers to wear for the "So Excited" music video, and then shows Janet and her dancers hitting a bar in Las Vegas immediately after performing at the Billboard Music Awards last December.

Gil hints that tour dates will be announced soon
On his recently created blog, choreographer/dancer Gil Duldulao has posted an entry this morning claiming that Janet's upcoming tour dates "will be out in love."
Although it is not explicitly stated, many fans online are assuming that he is implying the announcement will be made on Wednesday, February 14, which is Valentine's Day.
There has been no official word that a tour announcement is indeed upcoming, however Gil had also been hinting through several other recent online postings that one would be coming soon. |
