Gil: Janet to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live and more
Janet's choreographer Gil Duldulao, Jr. posted in a bulletin on MySpace.com that Janet would be appearing on a future episode of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live.
He also confirmed in the same posting that she would be appearing on the Tyra Banks Show, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the Billboard Music Awards.
As was previously reported, Janet's appearance on Ellen airs November 10, and the Billboard Music Awards will be held on December 4. It is unknown right now when her episodes of Tyra Banks and Jimmy Kimmel will air. |

Report: Janet to open Billboard Music Awards
Popular website Sohh.com is reporting that Janet will be opening the Billboard Music Awards later this year.
Nothing official about a performance by Janet at the awards ceremony has been announced yet, however Jermaine Dupri previously had posted on Janet's official website that she would be attending the Billboard Music Awards.
The 2006 Billboard Music Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday, December 4. Official announcements will be posted as soon as it is made available. |

Janet's appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show has been moved to November 10, according to the latest television listings. It had previously been scheduled to air on November 2.
It is still unknown at this point what day the episode will actually film. According to the same listings, Janet is scheduled to perform on the episode. |

Janet designs a duck for breast cancer awareness
Janet has found a way to remind fans "Don't Duck a Breast Exam" by decorating and signing a pink duck that is being auctioned on eBay as a part of Project Pink, a program created to support moms in their fight against breast cancer.
The auction for Janet's duck ends on October 31. 100% of the final sale price will support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

JD posts message on MySpace regarding decision to leave Virgin
In a message posted this morning on MySpace.com, Jermaine Dupri elaborated slightly on his decision to leave his position at Virgin Records.
"...as you probly herd I been goin to war with virgin over the lack of there paticipation and promotion on 20yo," Dupri wrote.
He continues, "for all of you askin ?s about the rumors jus no i dont play games when it comes to my music i did'nt get in the buisness for the bullshit and politics nore do i ever wanna be in the company of people that dont no what there doin." |

Jackson producer and boyfriend exits label
NEW YORK (AP) -- Jermaine Dupri -- superproducer, rapper, and the boyfriend of Janet Jackson -- has confirmed to The Associated Press that he has quit as a top executive at Jackson's label, Virgin Records, amid disappointing sales of Jackson's new album.
"Since there are so many rumors running rampant about my position at Virgin Records, I feel that it is necessary to set the record straight," Dupri said Wednesday in a statement released to the AP. "I was not forced out of the company, I made a decision that it was in my best interest to leave."
Dupri became head of urban music at Virgin, a unit of EMI Group PLC, just last year. His abrupt departure comes after the underwhelming performance of Jackson's latest release, "20 Y.O."
Jackson's album failed to debut at the top of the charts last month, then steadily fell to her current No. 19 position on the Billboard 200. Dupri was an executive producer of the record and helped determine its creative vision, along with Jackson and her longtime producers, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Coming after the flat performance of 2004's "Damita Jo" and Jackson's infamous Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction, "20 Y.O." was seen as an opportunity for Jackson to re-establish herself as the multiplatinum hitmaker she has been for most of her 20-year-plus career.
Dupri, who declined further comment on his departure, has produced a multitude of hits for other artists, most notably last year for diva Mariah Carey. His work on her multiplatinum, Grammy-winning "The Emancipation of Mimi" was widely credited as being a chief reason for her comeback. He also was a top producer on Usher's eight-million selling "Confessions" album.

'So Excited' UK retail single to be released November 20
The "So Excited" retail single will be released in the UK on November 20, according to a card sleeve that was included with copies of the "So Excited" promo single sent out to DJs and radio stations in the UK.
The tracklisting of the UK retail single is currently unknown.
This is the first officially announced retail single for "So Excited" anywhere in the world. Rumors of a possible US retail single have not yet been confirmed.
Update: The official Virgin UK website is listing the "So Excited" retail single as being released in the UK on November 27. It is not known right now which of the two dates is correct. |

Janet holds press conference in Japan to promote '20 Y.O.'
Janet, wearing a bright red kimono, held a press conference earlier today at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Tokyo to promote her "20 Y.O." album.
"I miss dancing, so I wanted it to be a dance album," she told the journalists.
She said that she is preparing a tour, with rehearsals to begin at the end of the year, and she will likely be on the road from March or April.
Japan, she said, is on her list of stops.
"I always enjoy myself in Japan, even though the majority of my time is work-related," she said. "I will definitely be back."

Janet to appear on Ellen DeGeneres Show November 2
Janet is scheduled to be interviewed and perform on an upcoming episode of the Ellen Degeneres Show that will air on Thursday, November 2, according to the latest television listings.
This will be the second time that Janet has appeared on Ellen's talk show, however it will be the first time she's performed on the show. She previously appeared on the show in 2004 to promote "Damita Jo."
It is unknown right now when the episode will film, however the show usually tapes one day prior to airing.

X1FX creates over 120 effects for 'So Excited' video
X1FX, a leading visual effects design and production company specializing in effects for feature films, TV commercials and music videos, announced today via press release that they are responsible for completing over 120 visual effects for Janet's recently released "So Excited" music video. The announcement was made by X1FX co-founders Mark Larranaga, Visual Effects Supervisor, and Edy Enriquez, Executive Producer.
For the "So Excited" music video, X1FX worked with director Joseph Kahn and producer MaryAnn Tanedo, working in conjunction with H.S.I. Productions, for Virgin Records.
Kahn said, "For this project, I needed the right talent and technology to achieve a new visual effect never before seen in a dance video. X1FX accomplished my x-ray camera effect impressively, under an impossible time crunch as well. They are one of the few houses that respond to a difficult director challenge with not one shred of doubt, only enthusiasm and complete commitment."
Added Tanedo, "This was a really crazy project, and the guys at X1FX were amazing. Everything had to come together very quickly, and, at one point, we worked together for 24 straight hours. They were truly great to work with!"
Said Enriquez, "Joseph Kahn is one of my favorite directors. He is constantly pushing the boundaries of visual effects, which in turn motivates and inspires our artists. The 'So Excited' project was nuts! We literally had less than five days to deliver over a hundred shots."
In the "So Excited" music video, Janet Jackson and others dance in a subway station setting. X1FX provided the character animations and 3D clothing for several cloth simulation sequences. Says Larranaga, "Due to a last minute set location change, we had to generate CG ceilings for the subway station. Our CG Supervisors John Mitchell and Don Libby created cloth simulations for Janet and her dancers, with clothing appearing and re-appearing, which had to match their movements while dancing. The textures of these cloth simulations had to be dead on, in order to trick the eye of the viewer."
Larranaga adds, "Compositing was another key factor in creating the seamlessness for all the clothing. Joseph Kahn's provocative concept has brought a great deal of attention to Janet's newest video, and the response has been tremendous so far, especially on the Internet." |

Janet signs boots for charity
 A collection of boots originally customized and autographed by celebrities and fashion designers to draw attention to World AIDS Day in 1998 is being put up for auction on eBay UK as a part of Britain's National Giving Week 2006 by the Charities Aid Foundation.
Included in this collection that is currently up for bid is a pair of boots autographed by Janet. The online auction ends on October 26 and all of the money raised will go towards the National AIDS Trust. |

'20 Y.O.' to debut at #2 on Billboard albums chart
Janet's new album "20 Y.O." will debut at the #2 spot on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart after selling 296,000 copies during its first week of sales, according to a Billboard news article.
She falls behind rapper Ludacris whose album "Release Therapy" debuts at #1 after selling 309,000 copies. The new Ludacris album will also debut at #1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, according to the article.
The full Billboard charts will be released tomorrow morning.
Update: Billboard has corrected an error in their initial article and are now saying that "20 Y.O." is #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. |

Upscale Magazine goes apartment hunting with Janet
Upscale Magazine recently spent a day with Janet in Manhattan while looking for a new apartment for herself and Jermaine, and it is documented in the November 2006 issue of the magazine, which she also appears on the cover of.
"My apartment now is a little too small for two people," she tells the magazine before taking them along with her to look at several different multi-million dollar apartments.
In the interview, Janet also confirms rumors that she once dated actor Matthew McConaughey for a brief period of time before she began her current relationship with Jermaine. |

Free lithograph this week at Circuit City with '20 Y.O.'
This week only, with the purchase of "20 Y.O." at Circuit City retail stores in the US, customers will also receive a free lithograph of Janet. The disc is on sale this week for $9.99 at the store.
Last week, Circuit City also included a free code to download a remix of "Call On Me" inside of each "20 Y.O." album at their stores. It is unknown right now if this code is still included inside of the album for free in addition to the free lithograph, although this is a possibility.
The lithograph is available only while supplies last, and there is a minimum of 20 available at each store. |
