Video and photos of Janet on the Today Show this morning
Several video files and many photographs of Janet's performance this morning on NBC's Today Show can be seen on the Today Show's official website.

She performed "Nasty," "So Excited," and "Call On Me" with a special guest appearance by Nelly.

It should be noted that Janet and Nelly actually recorded "Call On Me" during one of the show's commercial breaks. Unfortunately, NBC came back on air while they were still performing the very last few seconds of that song, making many viewers think that they missed out on the song altogether. These last few seconds of "Call On Me" were not intended to air live on television when it did. NBC's original plan was to record the performance during a commercial break and then air that song in full later on during the next hour of the show, which they did.

Press Release

Janet Jackson Scores #1 on 'Billboard's' Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart with 'Call on Me'

Friday September 15, 7:31 pm ET

Media Blitz for Music Icon's Release of Highly Anticipated New Album - '20 Y.O.' - Begins with Appearances on 'Oprah' and 'The Today Show'

NEW YORK, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Less than two weeks before R&B superstar Janet Jackson's eagerly awaited new album, "20 Y.O.," hits stores, the lead single, "Call on Me," has claimed the Number One slot on "Billboard's" Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, which is based on a combination of radio airplay and sales.

The Janet/Nelly duet is the music icon's 15th Number One and 30th Top 10 single on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Janet is now tied with R. Kelly for scoring the most Top 10 singles since "Billboard" began compiling its information from Nielsen SoundScan data in 1992. She tops the R&B chart, in existence for 64 years, ahead of all artists since 1984.

The second single from "20 Y.O.," the steamy dance-pop track "So Excited," hearkens back to Janet's career-making 1986 album "Control." The track, which features rapper Khia, hit radio on August 28th, while a sexy companion video clip, lensed by award-winning director, Joseph Kahn, debuted on BET's "Access Granted."

On September 25th, the day before "20 Y.O." is released, Janet will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to chat with Oprah and sing "So Excited." She will also excite hundreds of fans in New York City when she performs three songs on NBC's "The Today Show" on September 29th.

In addition, look for Janet this month on the covers of "W," "FHM," "Giant," "Ebony," and "Billboard" magazines.

Janet Jackson Opens Up About the Men in Her Life: Michael, Her Father, Her Ex and Jermaine Dupri in the October/November 2006 Issue of Giant Magazine

September 13, 2006 04:00 PM Eastern Time

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2006-- "I never really wanted to sing." -Janet Jackson

Legendary pop siren Janet Jackson graces the October/November 2006 cover of GIANT Magazine, the ultimate entertainment publication, announced Editor-in-Chief Smokey D. Fontaine.

In Ms. Jackson's revealing interview with Scott Poulson-Bryant, one of the most successful female artists of all time gives GIANT readers a rare glimpse into her world. She speaks frankly about the men in her life, from her brother Michael and her father Joe to her ex-husband James DeBarge and her current flame, hip hop mogul Jermaine Dupri.

Outlined below are select passages from GIANT Magazine's October/November 2006 cover feature on stands September 18: "Janet Jackson: Come Give Your Love To Me":

ON FAMILY PROBLEMS

"That song ('Life/Love') was written and recorded while, um, while my brother was going through it. The whole night trying to record, while I was singing the background, I could not stop crying. Michael was in my mind... thank God the room I was singing in didn't have any windows."

ON HER FATHER'S INFLUENCE

"It was tough. I was doing 'Fame' and my heart wasn't really in it. I actually wanted to get fired. And things were going horribly in my marriage... I never really wanted to sing. I wanted to go to college and study business law and just be an actress and support my way through school doing that. But my father always said you can make more money as a singer."

ON HER SELF-IMAGE

"For a long time, I had a difficult time finding things I liked about myself physically. I never used to look in the mirror... 'cause I didn't really like what I saw. Then one day I told myself I was going to just look because I wanted to find something that I liked about myself, and I looked in the mirror and started crying. I didn't see anything."

ON MICHAEL

"My brother Michael used to tease me. We're very close, but he was very adamant about the way I looked. The way I should look. He thought my butt was too big. Maybe he wasn't completely happy with himself, so he put it on me? I'm just guessing here, but looking back now I know that in adolescence your body changes and he would always tease people left and right about something. When his own body started to change...he became a lot more introverted."

ON THE SECRET CHILD RUMORS WITH EX-HUSBAND JAMES DEBARGE

"It upsets me people just seem to want me to have this baby that I've never told anyone about. But I think James's mother believes there's a baby, as well. Him and I have actually talked about it. He said to me that his mother had mentioned it to him so much, he had to ask me about it! Like, 'You wouldn't do that, would you?' And I had to tell him, if I'd had a baby, he would know. I would never keep a child from her father."

ON BOYFRIEND JERMAINE DUPRI

"The relationships I've been in have been so turbulent that...I've been through divorces..." She trails off again, not wanting to talk about her relationship with second husband Rene Elizondo. But then she nods her head toward the bedroom again. And smiles. "That one in there, though? Jermaine made me feel less self conscious about my body... I've never had anyone who looks at me and just loves me, and he's the only one I've ever even thought about having kids with... In the beginning he would say things that would trip me up because they were thoughts I'd had but never shared with anyone, some of the same deep thoughts he'd had. That's never happened to me before."
