Janet and Jermaine to co-host NFL Super Bowl event
Janet and Jermaine Dupri will co-host the Willie Gary Celebrity Scholarship Party on Saturday, February 5, in Jacksonville, Florida, according to News4Jax.com.
The event, which will take place in the Aetna Building one day prior to the big game, is an officially sanctioned NFL Super Bowl event.
The annual party is being held to raise scholarship money for Edward Waters College and Shaw University, two historically black colleges. Other invited guests include Magic Johnson, Bow Wow, Sam Madison, Evander Holyfield, Tommy Ford, several NFL players and other celebrities.
The event is open to the public with tickets available for $250 and sold through Ticketannex.com.

Jermaine Dupri to become Janet's labelmate
Jermaine Dupri has been tapped by Virgin Records to take over as president of the its new Urban Music division, Billboard.com is reporting.
Under the deal, Dupri's So So Def label will join the Virgin stable, and he will also record as a solo act for Virgin and produce acts on Virgin and other EMI labels. Janet has been signed to Virgin Records since 1991.
"By joining So So Def and Virgin, I plan to do for Virgin what Russell Simmons did 10 years ago, when he moved Def Jam to Island Records," Dupri says in a statement. "I will catapult Virgin into a young, hip label with chart-topping success in both R&B and rap music."
Dupri recently confirmed with MTV that he is currently executive producing Janet's new album. |

Janet to appear in May issue of FHM magazine
Janet has just completed a photoshoot for FHM Magazine, according to Janet's long time styist Wayne Scot Lukas.
Lukas, who has been styling Janet since the Design of A Decade album, says that he has "never seen her like this!" He did not reveal too many details about the upcoming photoshoot, but he did say that Janet's makeup was done by Fran Cooper, and her hair was done by Tym from the All For You tour.
The photographer for the shoot is Ron Monk, a young new artist that Lukas called "a freaking genius!" Monk recently completed the NYC Pet Project, a book focusing on New York City's pet-owning celebrities and everyday citizens.
Janet|Xone spoke with Monk this evening, and he confirmed that Janet's issue of FHM magazine should hit the stands sometime in April.

Janet nominated at NAACP Image Awards
Janet has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Female Artist at the 36th Annual NAACP Image Awards. Other nominees in the category are Fantasia, Jill Scott, Patti LaBelle, and Queen Latifah.
The awards will tape on March 19 in Los Angeles and will air on Friday, March 25 at 8:00 PM ET on Fox. |

Janet donating money to tsunami water sanitation
Janet is donating an undisclosed amount of money to the Red Cross for the South East Asian tsunami relief, according to KESQ.
The donation specifies that she wants the money to be used for water sanitation to help prevent disease. |

Janet sends Clark get well, happy new year message
Janet appeared tonight on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2005 in a short pre-taped video segment sending Dick Clark a quick get-well-soon and happy new year message.
Dick Clark did not host his annual show this year due to health problems. Other celebrities who taped video messages for Clark include Elton John, Madonna, and John Travolta. |
