JD: Janet's new album to be all dance
Acting as executive producer on Janet's next album, Jermaine Dupri tells MTV.com that her new album will focus principally on dance music.
"For this record, it's gonna be all dance, though," he says. "It's gonna be straight 'Control,' 'Nasty,' hard-ass beats, memorable melodies. It's directed to her fans, people who miss dancing, people who miss seeing videos with dancing. These [younger artists] are sloppy, they don't take it as serious as she do. They don't rehearse for the hours she do. It's serious business for her and her family and her brothers. It's important for kids to see that and bring that back to life."
In his role as executive producer, Dupri has been working at reaching out at getting several well-known producers to work on her new album, one of them being Dr. Dre.
"I'm reaching out to everybody to work on her record," he explained. "I'mma reach to the top of the top producers and we're gonna make a great album." He also said that he does not envision the album having many guest appearances.
Dupri said the album will definitely be out in 2005. |

Janet is internet's most-searched term of 2004
Janet is the most searched term of 2004 on the internet, according to a press release by search engine Lycos.
"Janet Jackson held the number one spot on The Lycos 50 for only two weeks this year, but she generated more search activity in those two weeks than any other search topic, making her the most searched topic in the history of The Lycos 50, and easily the top search of 2004," said Dean Tsouvalas, writer of The Lycos 50. "In the first 24 hours following Jackson's now infamous 'wardrobe malfunction,' Janet Jackson and the Super Bowl halftime show received 60 times as many searches as the Paris Hilton sex tape and 80 times as many searches as Britney Spears."
