Photo of Rhythm Nation Mickey
A photo of the Mickey Mouse statue that Janet designed for his 75th birthday celebration is now available on Disney's website.

Janet's statue of Mickey, titled "Mickey's Nation 1928," wears the famous Rhythm Nation 1814 outfit. However, instead of the year 1814 being displayed on the emblem, Janet put the year Mickey was "born," 1928, on it.

Proceeds from the auction of Janet's Mickey statue will be given to A Place Called Home.

Janet designs statue for Mickey Mouse's birthday
Janet was one among dozens of celebrities that each designed a 6-foot tall, 700-pound statue of Mickey Mouse to celebrate the animated character's 75th birthday. The statues were unveiled today at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, according to a report by the Associated Press.

Each of the seventy-five statues will be on display at Walt Disney World until April. They will then tour the United States and be auctioned for charity.

Janet and boyfriend Jermaine Dupri also dressed up as Mickey & Minnie Mouse this past Halloween, a photo of which can be seen in the November 17 issue of US Weekly. Janet is notoriously known for having a Mickey & Minnie Mouse tatoo on her upper, inner thigh.

Other celebrities that designed statues included Andre Agassi, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ellen DeGeneres, Michelle Kwan, and Annette Funicello.

Gil reveals Janet's plans to tour
Janet's long-time dancer and friend Gil Duldulao recently revealed in an interview with SpiceRadio.com that Janet has asked him to co-direct her upcoming tour.

"Janet and I have been working on this for about one year now," he said in the interview. "She approached me after the 'All For You' tour. At first I didn't know what I was going to do, but she insisted [that I work with her]. I was excited because this will be a new Janet. We are working on her style, dancing, touring, etc. I will be co-directing the tour along side her. I have never directed a tour before; I just want to do well by her. She is a close friend and I just want to do good for her. It's kind of weird having friendship separate from business. I am wondering what the fans will think of the new Janet. Also it is just me this time, but I can't wait. I will enjoy it when I get it completed."

Pictures from this past weekend's new dancer auditions have been posted on Gil's official website, thegilsource.com.
